Doorbell battery running down very quickly

We have a new Ring Doorbell 3. it is connected to the mains electricity. However the battery runs out in about 14 days. Is this normal? Is there a way to check the mains is connected correctly? and is there an easy way to see why it is draining the battery so quickly? Thanks

Hi @richardsecretsource. If you [hardwire](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/204252980-Ring-Video-Doorbell-Hardwired-vs-Battery-Powered-Operation) your Ring Video Doorbell 3, the battery should last for quite some time. Once your battery hits 90%, it will start to [trickle charge](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038856311-Charging-the-Battery-for-Your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-3). You'll also want to make sure your [transformer](https://ring.com/collections/accessories/products/hardwired-transformer) is adequate for the Ring Video Doorbell 3.
