Doorbell 3 not working - mute!


I bought a doorbell 3 about 4 months ago. Around a month ago, the doorbell started to be mute when someone ring at the door i.e. they can hear me fine but I can’t hear them. Yes I put the sound up and made sure nothing was muted on my side. The first time I solved it by taking the battery out and restarting the doorbell… 3-4 weeks later, the doorbell is doing it again. This is really painful and of course it does it when you are never home! any help someone could give or do I have a faulty device?? Thanks

Hi @South07. Have you tried resetting your Doorbell and completing a brand new setup? If not, I’d suggest giving that a try as it will refresh your Doorbell’s connection with the Ring App and with your home wifi network. To reset the Doorbell, hold down the setup button for at least 20 seconds. Once that’s done, you’ll want to set it up again in the Ring App by following the steps under Set Up a Device. Let me know if that corrects this audio concern for you! :slight_smile:

I have now reset the doorbell. As expected, it is now working again. However as I mentioned in my previous message, this is now the second time I reset my doorbell within the last month. I don’t intend to do this regularly as the device should be working without resetting every month. We will see how long this reset last and I shall let you know as soon as it stops again.

Ps: have anyone noticed how badly located the QR code is for resetting? Behind the box meaning once fitted on a wall, you have to take 5 screws off, remove the entire unit from the wall to scan the tiny code and screw all back on! I’m surprised no one thought about printing the QR code in the front behind the faceplate!
