After searching all over the internet for at least a year and starting to believe all of the conspiracy theories that Ring had intentionally caused the problem with directives in their auto firmware updates, I have finally discovered that the problem is a hardware problem. A spring loaded contact post on the panel board has weakened and is not coming in contact with the power supply feeds from your hardwiring. It takes a little DIY capability but it can be easily fixed if you have a soldering iron and can turn screws. See this post on REDDIT that was 2 years old.

I guess I just never searched google with the exact string of words necessary to find the post, as I've been searching for a long time. I did as he directed and my problem was fixed! My battery is now charging from the hardwiring, the app shows I am hardwired, and my existing doorbell inside my home is ringing again. Kuddos to my savior on Reddit! Please pass the word in your circles!
