Do i need a resistor for a Doorbell Wired or can I hook it directly to a transformer? I do not have a existing chime.

I think it's the pins on the Transformer that you're trying to park your doorbell up to. Older homes don't have a Transformer that can power the doorbell just by hooking up the two wires. You can purchase a brain Transformer and that will work perfect. A description that someone else posted about putting a jumper on your doorbell I think some figures your home doorbell to wear it it has and not power to work.

No, the [Doorbell Wired](https://ring.com/products/video-doorbell-wired) requires the use of a jumper cable during setup, which is included. There is also a [Plug-In Adapter](https://ring.com/products/video-doorbell-plugin-adapter-gen-2) available for easily powering your Video Doorbell Wired. When installing the Video Doorbell Wired in another way than described above, we recommend consulting with a qualified electrician.
