Has anyone experienced Delayed notifications with their Ring? This has happened on numerous occasions where someone would ring my doorbell and about 3 to 5 minutes later we hear in on the devices inside and get the notifications??

Hi there, @DanitaR! The delay you are describing sounds quite long before the alert is received, and is certainly uncommon. A 3-5 minute delay on an alert should not happen at all. Please ensure there is not a vpn enabled on your mobile device, and test wifi connection versus cell data connection to see if one is better. If possible, try receiving alerts on another mobile device, Ring Chime, or Alexa device to test how alerts are delivered to multiple different devices. We always recommend checking your wifi signal strength or [RSSI in the Ring app](https://community.ring.com/t/how-it-works-your-ring-device-rssi-good-vs-poor/229), to ensure there is not interference, but also, confirm the video of the event is recording and showing in the event history for the proper time the event took place. This will confirm that your Ring device is attempting to deliver video/ notifications for an event on time. I hope this helps! :)

Ring, can’t run a vpn and all local law enforcement as to do is fill out a form to get any video from your home that they want with no oversight from Amazon. This is not good, I am done with ring.

Oh, it’s very common. It’s been going on for a year for me.  I spent $2000 on this equipment and I can’t even get a notification when somebody comes to my door within 15 minutes of them arriving.   what’s the point ? this is very common.  people just don’t have the nerve to post or comment on this.   what am I supposed to do now? throw away $2000 worth of equipment? Find another system ?   that’s not really easy to do.   not to mention I’m a federal firearm manufacturer so you know I’ll be lucky if I live because of Ring not notifying me when somebody tries to come and maybe rob my store.   who knows knows. First opportunity I get,   I’m getting rid of it. I wish ring had a buyback program.  I’d be the first to sign up.

My delays are 5-10 minutes, no issues with any other devices in the home.

Ring is much too quick to blame your WIFI signal. I have many many Wifi devices and they respond well. I nearly always have a delay from a few seconds to a few minutes on my Ring doorbell.

I too have a delay because of a VPN on my phone. Ring needs to fix this issue. VPNs are quite common.

Hi @mariannewojo. The Ring app will not work with a VPN. You can find more information [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052665251).
