The button on my Video Doorbell Pro has cracked, so I reached out to customer support for assistance in finding a fix. But I was slapped in the face, told that it was a known problem, but I was out of warranty. It was so bad that the Video Doorbell Pro was withdrawn, but I could purchase the replacement Video Doorbell Pro 2 for £169.99 and I would get a 30% additional discount from Customer Support for my inconvenience. What a scam; design a product that is designed to fail, provide no fix other than selling an expensive replacement product.
I have reported the same issue today with my ring doorbell pro and as mine is also out of warranty been offered the 30% discount to buy a new product. Clearly this issue has not been rectified despite all the complaints by Ring users.
The problem hasn’t improved with the Ring Doorbell Pro 2 - the button also fails in exactly the same way. Delivery drivers almost seem to take pride in using their keys to prod the bell into breaking as they obviously know they’re horribly weak & badly designed
OMG that’s exactly what has happened to my Pro 1 and I was going to upgrade to Pro 2 with a hope it was fixed. You can’t glue anything to it either as nothing sticks. When I spoke to customer service when it was out of warranty, they said they have never heard of this before! A little fib me thinks
If I get the unit off I can probably fix it but not while it’s in use. I’ll build a aluminium cover and bond it on with an epoxy which I will paste behind the holes in the button. The unit must be face down or the epoxy will run into the mechanism F’ing it up for good.
I’ll post the repair if it works. You could use a bleak coat button too.
