I reset my contact sensor but it still keeps chirping when the window is open. Is it defective?
Hey @is250sp. The Contact Sensor will chirp when it is showing as open, which is an act of the magnet that is close to the sensor being pulled away from being closed to open. Neighbors that hear the chirping sound when said door or window is open may have this as a result of an environmental cause or the device itself. Do you have any metal on the window frame that the sensor is attached to? This metal could be causing this interference and resulting in the constant chirp.
In addition, if you do not have the window opened too wide, the sensor could still be getting a slight pull here and there from the magnet. Although, if the window is wide open, there is no metal or magnet nearby, then it may be the sensor itself!
