What of I take the doorbell wires and connect a usb charger to one side and a micro usb to the other and either plug it into the charge port on the ring or remove the battery completely and use the usb charger to power it?

Hi there, @Rackflot! While this is super creative, our battery powered Doorbells are designed to only power via the battery. Similar to connecting wires and delivering voltage to a battery-powered Video Doorbells, it would only use the power to trickle charge, but never to power the device. As we’ve had other neighbors share a similar interest to yours, we have this Plug-In Adapter available at Ring.com. I hope this helps!
