Combining tilt plate and solar panel

I have a Ring Doorbell 3, a Ring solar panel and a tilt plate.

Does the tilt plate go between the doorbell and the solar panel or behind the solar panel. The screw holes don’t seem to match up to do it either way.

Hi @Triglyph. Installing your Ring Video Doorbell 3 with a Solar Panel and Wedge Kit will go like this- Wall > Wedge Kit > Solar Panel > Doorbell. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Doorbell 3 with solar charger

Is this correct?!? Wall-wedge-solar-doorbell?
I hope not…isn’t the solar panel the widest piece? That should be against the wall or the installation will look ridiculous. Anyone have a picture of this?
Should be wall - solar- wedge-doorbell

Hi @SteveE607. The information above is correct and accurate. Have a great day! :smiley:

Guess I’ll be sending mine back. This is a major design miss in my opinion.

This information is incorrect

I just received the solar charger for Doorbell 3/3+ and it DOES have the mounting holes to supporting mounting the solar panel first, then wedge, then doorbell.

Hi @SteveE607. Thanks for the correction! Feel free to share a photo of your mounted device so others can see how this looks! :smiley:

Here’s the installation

I don’t think you attached the picture

I’ve seen lots of conflicting comments on whether you can fit a wedge with the solar panel or not. Via chat I was told yes and via tech support I was told no. Different views on this board. I have a doorbell 3+ so is it possible? I want it to be wall+solar panel+wedge+doorbell. Is this set up possible?

Hi there, neighbors! Check out our Solar Charger page on Ring.com, and scroll towards the bottom to view the FAQ section. This states, the Solar Charger can be used together with Wedge and Corner Kit, however, the Solar Charger cannot be used with No-Drill Mount.

As for the installation;

Our help center article provides some additional information such as whether or not new screw holes are needed, and more! :slight_smile:

when using more than one wedge, what size and type screw do you use?
