Ring Video Doorbell
Choppy audio on my new Doorbell Pro
So I’ve been battling with ring support and my new doorbell pro for several weeks now to try and get a choppy audio issue solved. The issue is just when I’m listening to audio from a visitor (they can hear me fine). Their voice drops out with gaps every 2/3 seconds. Sometimes a single drop sometimes multiple in that time. I’ve tried extenders, mesh Wi-Fi, ubiquit access points, up rating my fibre speeds, ring chime pro you name it. I’ve also tried tethering my phones data connection and the doorbell is the same, choppy incoming audio. It’s a little better in the early mornings but never faultless. Ring say it’s my network but how can that be when I’ve got a strong signal at my doorbell via a mesh Wi-Fi or extender and down up speeds of 108/10mbps. Also to my mind that argument doesn’t stack when I’ve also tried it on a separate data network (via my mobile). If I had much hair left I’d have ripped it out by now so I’m reaching out to you guys in the hope someone else has had similar and resolved it? Many thanks in advance.

Hi neighbors! Choppy audio on your Ring Doorbell or Camera could be caused by various different reasons. Check through the troubleshooting steps below to help narrow down what is causing choppy audio on your Ring device: - Disable Bluetooth from your smartphone or tablet if this is on, as Bluetooth may be causing some interference. - Power cycle your Ring device by removing the battery or disconnecting it from power for at least 30 seconds. Restore power and access the Live View to test out the audio. - Ensure your wifi speeds meet the requirement of 2 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload for each Ring device. Keep in mind that other wifi-enabled devices in your home are utilizing your wifi speeds as well and can cause congestion on your network. - Review the [RSSI](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-Values-and-Wireless-Signal-Strength) on your Ring device to see if it's indicating a poor wifi connection. In addition to insufficient speeds, a poor connection to your wifi network could also cause audio concerns. As everyone's home environment is different, the cause for any audio concerns on your Ring device may vary from what is causing this concern for someone else. It's important to try all of the steps above, which can also be found in our [Audio and Sound Troubleshooting Guide](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050175212-Audio-and-Sound-Issues-Troubleshooting-Guide), as it will help you pinpoint the cause of your issue so you can resolve it.
