Simple question - will the ring doorbell1 - 1st version - continue to record if I plug it in with the micro usb cord(and charge it) but I sill have it in the location that I want it recording? (plugged into a wall outlet to charge) Basically - does it continue to work and alert you if its charging?
Hi @kpjammer. I would advise against this. The Doorbell is not designed to plugged into USB and operate at the same time. When the device is in use, and when charging, it puts a “load” on the Doorbell. Doing both of these operations at the same time can “overload” the Doorbell, which is not ideal. If you want to maintain a continuous charge, I would suggest either hardwiring it or using one of our other power options. I hope this information helps!
