Car Cam usage regulations

In rhode island and about half the states, there are laws that say "it's legal to use dash cams, but it's illegal to mount them on your drivers' windshields". If the car cam is attached to the windshield using adhesive, is it not "mounted onto the windshield" and therefore illegal? It would be bad to pay for a device and then a few months after the return window has closed, to be pulled over and informed that usage of the device is illegal. also clarity on this issue is important when traveling state to state.

Hi @drsalomon. Since laws and regulations can vary from state to state, I'd recommend verifying with your local law enforcement agency to see if the Car Cam can or cannot be used in your area. If you plan to travel to a different state, I'd also recommend reviewing the regulations in that state beforehand regarding the use of dashboard cameras.
