Can't enable motion alerts 1st generation doorbell

My 1st generation Doorbell notified me in the android app today that motion detection was turned off. So I turned it on. It says it saved the settings, but it still shows off.

I have tried this every way I know how, but it doesn’t seem to save the settings. I’ve tried to remove all the zones and re-add them, I’ve tried to shut the app down and do it again. I’ve tried to change it directly and in the settings. It always says the settings are saved, but it’s still turned off. Help!


This is happening to me as well. Hopefully someone will answer with a resolution .

Motion notifications should be received by your mobile device from the Ring app as long as the motion alert toggle is on and there are not any modes or schedules preventing alerts. Please ensure there is not a VPN enabled on the mobile device. As android was mentioned, please also check for any android apps that conflict with the Ring app. I hope this helps! :slight_smile:
