My uncle sent me a camera, I was trying to setting up but the camera still on my uncle’s account but when he check in his account the camera doesn’t appear and he can’t delete it.
Hi @user11074. If your uncle doesn’t see the Camera listed in his Ring app, he may have it set to the wrong location. At the top center of the Ring app, there will be a location name that he should be able to tap to open a drop-down menu of all locations he has in the Ring app. He also must be the owner of the device and not a Shared User, as a Shared User cannot remove a device.
He can then remove the Camera in the Ring app following these steps:
- Tap the three lines on the top left
- Tap Devices
- Select the device that needs to be released for ownership.
- Tap Device Settings
- Tap General Settings
- Select Remove this Device
- The device will immediately be available to a new owner.
This should allow him to completely remove the Camera from his account so you can set it up under your Ring account. We have more information on device ownership in our Help Center Article here as well. If you are still unable to get the Camera set up under your account, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here.
