Can power surge damage ring power kit v2?

Can a power surge damage Ring pro power kit v2? My ring Pro doorbell now reads low voltage after possible lightening strike in my yard…was working fine before…not sure if that white power kit attached inthe doorbell transformer ring chime on my wall can get ruined

Hi @Jaz60crna. It could be a possibility that it was damaged. We do have spare parts for the Pro available here, which include a Pro Power Kit. Another thing you would want to look into would be the transformer supplying power to your Pro. Verify that the voltage coming out of it has not decreased below 16V. If you are not comfortable doing so, I recommend consulting a qualified electrician for assistance. I hope this helps.

So i replaced the ring power kit… no change…had a Hampton 16 vac /30 va installed…door bell wires read 16 v… still got poor transformer error…replaced with tri volt Hampton Bay tri volt…wired to 24 v…ring Pro…house goor bell wires test 27 v…still get transformer voltage poor message in app… pro power pack and door chime unchanged…if i plug ring pro bell in with charger in kitchen…starts up immed iateltely…connects to chime…via wifi…no issues… don’t know what to do now… tried everything! great on my counter…lol
