Can motion be recorded without contacting me?

I have the pro. What I would like is for motion outside my door to be recorded, but I should only be alerted if someone actually rings the doorbell.

Is this possible? If so, what settings?

Hi @dspevack. You would look into needing to do is to turn off your “Motion Alerts” and make sure to keep on your “Ring Alerts.” What this does is still records and saves in your Event History all of your motion activities, but eliminating the notification of motion. Keeping Ring Alerts on means you will only get notifications of your Doorbell actually being pushed. To change these settings, you will do so from the Device Profile for your Doorbell under the Ring app > Main Menu > Devices > Doorbell. You will see these toggles at the top left for you to turn on/off. Hope this helps!
