Battery video door bell 2

My Ring video 2 door bell worked fine at the other house, I never had to charge the battery. Just moved into a brand constructed house and now I have to recharge the battery every week or so.
Maybe I have a different type of door bell. The wiring looked the same, 2 wires. I did install the little diode on th back of the door bell, maybe I don’t need it?

Hi @6ba34089498bce51ef2a. For the Video Doorbell 2, you only need to install the diode if you have a digital chime kit. You’ll know it’s digital if it plays a melody rather than a standard ‘ding-dong’ sound. If you install the diode when you don’t have a digital chime kit, it can cause damage to your Doorbell. At this point, I would recommend contacting our support team at one of the numbers available here. They’ll be able to take a closer look for you and help you make sure everything is installed correctly and working properly.
