Battery video door bell 2
battery-video-doorbell
My Ring video 2 door bell worked fine at the other house, I never had to charge the battery. Just moved into a brand constructed house and now I have to recharge the battery every week or so.Maybe I have a different type of door bell. The wiring looked the same, 2 wires. I did install the little diode on th back of the door bell, maybe I don't need it?

Hi @6ba34089498bce51ef2a. For the Video Doorbell 2, you only need to install the diode if you have a digital chime kit. You'll know it's digital if it plays a melody rather than a standard 'ding-dong' sound. If you install the diode when you don't have a digital chime kit, it can cause damage to your Doorbell. At this point, I would recommend contacting our support team at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). They'll be able to take a closer look for you and help you make sure everything is installed correctly and working properly. We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041597471) to see how to contact support.
