I have a ring doorbell gen 2. It’s battery powered however it seems to think it’s hardwired which means when I take it off charge it doesn’t work. I’ve tried factory resetting it however this doesn’t seem to work. What can I do?

Hi @amypl0wman. Do you have your Ring Doorbell connected to an existing doorbell circuit? This would technically mark the Doorbell as being hardwired and provide a trickle charge to the battery. Additionally, if the battery is dead, your Ring Doorbell will not work until the battery is charged back up. If you do not have your Doorbell hardwired at all, try performing a quick reboot using the [reboot option](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/7438395032980-Rebooting-your-Video-Doorbell-or-Security-Camera) on the Device Health page. Should that not resolve the issue, give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036196372-Contact-Us) for further assistance.
