Auto Video Recording length

I have the wired spotlight cam set to detect motion in a motion zone and have the video recording length set to Auto. During a motion event, it stopped recording during the motion event, then didn’t pick up recording the continued motion. For example, a car and trailer entered the motion zone, drove in the zone, then disappeared. It actually backed up into the motion zone and unloaded, the ring camera didn’t pick up any of that. Please advise what I should do, this is a significant security issue.

Hello @FSchneider. If your recording was short and did not continue even though what caused the motion is still in view, try the following steps:

  • Verify your Ring app is up-to-date with the latest updates.

  • If you have Smart Alerts enabled, double check that you have Other Motion turned on for recording.

  • Reboot your Camera using the Ring app.

  • Reboot your router by unplugging it for a few seconds and plugging it back in.
