Arm with door open but not bypass it
door-sensor
app-request

When we leave we usually have a specific door open, arm and close the door on the way out. But that door remains bypassed while the alarm is armed. How do you get around this?

Use the App on your phone to arm it after the door is closed. No alarm system will let you proactively arm an open or triggered sensor.

I think maybe the point that was trying to be made is "most" alarms will bypass an open sensor/contact when attempting to alarm system. This was the case with me for ADT, Protection 1, AT&T Digital Life and Desert Alarm. I remember it will ask if you want to bypass a zone when setting alarm but that may time out if not answered.

Hey Neighbors! I'd like to share this Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/4417964486676) about the Ring Alarm Quick Exit. This new feature allow you to open a door without Disarming the Alarm and setting off your Alarm by using the button on your Contact Sensor. Be sure to update your Ring app and let us know how you like this feature!

Hi there, l like to support the feature requested by jaymz688. I have the same problem. When i leave my home the Main Door is usually open (bring things out, the last one who exits arms the alarm via KeyPad). Its anoying to first close the main door, arm the alarm, and then reopen the door. The Arming-Delay (leaving home delay) should be optionally also apply for the door-sensor on the main door, so we can arm the Alarm with main door open, leave house and close door. Thank you.

Hi neighbors! We have now released Open Door Arming, which allows you to arm your system with one main door open and doesn't require that you bypass it. This Help Center [article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/13240383012756-Open-Door-Arming) will provide you with more information on Open Door Arming. I hope this new feature is what you have been looking for. 🙂
