Ring Alarm
Alexa Routine - Not working anymore to Arm Ring
Hi Guys, I have routine that, when I say :" alexa, i am leaving" will switch of light and arm ring into Away mode. Since 1 week, Ring is not able to be armed through routine anymore. Light switch off.. but the alarm stay in Disarm. I have tried to delete and recreate the routine.. nothing. I created a simple test routine with just the Ring arm in Home mode action. It doesn't work even if i trigger it manually through the test button inside Alexa App. Is there anyone who've had similar issue? What can I do? It really annoys me. I have also the same kind of routine when i go to sleep to put the alarm into Home mode... doesn't work either. When i say, alexa, sync all devices : alexa tells me it cannot connect or control bluetooth devices... i don't know if that has anything to do with it... Thanks in advance for your help, Laurent

I am having the same exact issue, something has changed. It all started night before last. I made this post but have no traction. [https://community.ring.com/t/routines-to-disarm-suddenly-stopped-working/162024](https://community.ring.com/t/routines-to-disarm-suddenly-stopped-working/162024) Ring support (if you see this) have there been any changes to APIs on either side? This almost feels like some type of security move, but one that customers were not notified about nor given workarounds. This is breaking all of our routines and 3p fobs.

Thank you to [user692](https://community.ring.com/u/user692) for the suggestion of using Simple Commands app (now called Live Key). It works great to get around whatever this mess is. You have to go via Scenes to arm/disarm, but I'll take it!

MI've followed @Marley_Ring 's suggestions early on, no change and the option to use Guard does not fill the void left by the inability to disarm via the routine (you can only arm). I followed the suggestion to use a 3p app, Live Key. This seems to work perfectly, but is a convoluted workaround. FYI...other users on the Ring subreddit are also facing this issue, so something changed.

After 2 years the routine I use when I wake up to turn my lights on and alarm off has stopped disarming the alarm. When I go to bed it arms the alarm. When I leave the house I can arm the alarm. It seems the problem I am having is when I want to disarm the system using voice commands in a routine is where it fails. When I just speak straight to Alexa and say disarm using my code it works fine. It seems teh problem is using your 4 digit diarm code in a routine. Anyone has a solution yet??
