I have the Ring Pro …I had no problems setting it up when installing, However when I ask Alexa to open the device it will keep telling me something has gone wrong and to disable and then enable the skill again, this will temporally cure the problem till the next time, anyone has any ideas.
Hey @ukmartian. Have you tried reaching out to Amazon Alexa support for this? This would be a good place to start in order to see why this keeps happening for this through their app. Let us know what they say!
I spoke to ,Amazon today, I was advised the skill had been updated so i disabled and enabled it unfortunately it did not cure the problem fully it sometimes took 2-3 attempts…i then spoke on live chat and was advised to rename and de register the device , I still have to de-register althoug i have renamed it …will try again …lol thanks for reply…Steve
Sometimes Alexa can really be a pain. What I do is unplug the device giving me trouble for about an hour just to make sure it’s totally powered down. Then plug it back in. You can try with less time if needed as well. Maybe this may help her gain her wits back.
Happened to me a few days ago. In my case it seems it was a communication issue. I’ve restarted the router, i have a tp-link m9 mesh system, and gave high priority to the doorbell 2 on tplink app. Also did that reset thing on skill. Since then the communication with alexa it’s very nice and flawless. No more problems.
