Alarm switched to cellular. No WiFi or internet outage

Nothing has changed and had no power or internet outage. It has not switched back but continues to show as connected to WiFi when viewed from router. There are no options in the ring app to restart alarm so it can try again.

Other Ring devices (door bell, camera etc) are connected to WiFi without any issue.

Suggestions?

And just as magically it has now come back online?

To be clear, nothing has been touched. No power, WiFi or internet outage.

Makes a fella wonder?

Same issues keeps doing it to often now what can I do

It happened to us too tonight.

Now it’s stuck on cellular back up even internet is working.

Same for me today. Is it a firmware update that Ring has pushed? what can we do?

Hey neighbors! If you find your Base Station is stuck in cellular backup, you will want to try to reconnect the Base Station in the Ring app. If you’re unable to connect the Base Station, please ensure that the wifi signal is not being used up elsewhere in the home, or that there are no service outages or interruptions in your area. In th event that manually reconnecting the Base Station does not work and wifi works otherwise in your home, you can try to connect the Base Station to an ethernet connection to see if this helps. If all else fails, we recommend contacting our support team.

For support, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19. This has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 here to see how to contact support. Feel free to share your solutions here, but you may find this can happen randomly and come back on very shortly, normally due to some kind of internet service interruption or brief loss of connection to the wifi. As long as it’s able to return a few minutes later or you can manually reconnect it, then you should be okay!
