2nd gen ring doorbell hardwired live not working anymore

We installed the 2nd gen doorbell at christmas hardwired it and it was working perfectly, now it says the battery isn't charged. I thought with the hardwire it doesn't need charging. I will record and shows movement but we can't see the live view anymore.
