2nd Gen doorbell with solar panel

I’ve owned a 2nd gen doorbell since just after xmas last year and I’m now trying my 2nd solar charging setup, as I returned the 1st solar panel that sits behind it, thinking it was useless. I now have the full sized solar panel which also does not seem to charge my doorbell at all. I can say this as my stickup outdoor cam, and my outdoor siren are both connected to these panels and the cam is always 100% charged since installation, but after about a month my doorbell is down to 87%. Could I have a defective doorbell as this doesn’t make any sense. The app says solar power is connected but never shows or says charging, even with the nice sunny days we had a few weeks ago.

Hi @hobnobrob2000. I would try factory resetting your Doorbell to see if it helps. To factory reset it, press and hold the setup button for 20–25 seconds, and then reconnect it to your wifi again. We also have this Help Center page with other steps to try. If you have tried these step and are still having the same concern, give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here for further assistance. I’ve reset the doorbell but the battery level is still going down, at 84% now. As I mentioned before, my stickup cam is still charging and currently at 100%, so why not my doorbell ? They are both facing exactly the same direction.

@hobnobrob2000. As mentioned in the solution, if you have tried the troubleshooting steps and your Doorbell is still not taking a trickle charge from the solar panel, give our support team a call for further assistance.

Yes I will do that now, down to 79 percent now and 100 percent on my other cam. Thanks.

I have called them and after some testing and another hard reset they have assessed that I’m not getting any charge, so a replacement is on the way ! Thanks for your help :pray:t2::ok_hand:t2:
