XXXX's Friedland door chime 991Compatibility
Hello,I have installed in my house this original XXXX’s Friedland door chime XXXX - it is a working mechanical chime and works very loud and proud but I was curious if I connect a Ring Video Battery Doorbell to it, will it chime? Before going and buying one, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with one of these. It is currently working off of 12VAC 1A transformer, serving a single push button. I have checked the compatibility lists and it neither lists it as compatible or non-compatible.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi @wkirkman. The transformer you have would not be enough to power the doorbell. The transformer should have a 12VAC 30VA rating. Now, that transformer rating may be too much for your door chime, so be cognizant of that and consult a qualified electrician if needed.
