Why is my voice distorted but wife's is not through her phone?

I could speak perfectly well through my app to any visitors and be heard clearly. However, all of a sudden this is not the case and I ceased to be clear a couple of weeks ago for no apparent reason?Whats more bizarre... my wife continues to be clear when speaking to visitors through her phone.
