Ring Video Doorbell Button not Working

Does anyone know the cause or fix for a doorbell where the batterybdoesnt work? We noticed it doesn't send notifications to the connected Ring Chime when the button is pressed but it does for motion if activated for it. Further noticed thatbwhilst the button lights up during setup, it does not if the button is pressed to ring the doorbell.
