Ring misses people walking away.

This morning at 6:45 someone left my house, well in view of the camera, but it did not register in the video feed. The snapshot from that time shows the motion sensing light next to my door, just above the ring, being on, but there's no video. He was walking away from the house, of course. It did notice my cat roaming around 15 minutes later... I have the "people only" mode on. And the slider at about one third of the way. There's no paused time rule. Is that normal?
