Ring Doorbell 1st gen won’t charge

We have had our ring doorbell about 2 years now. We get many motion notifications as we live in a townhouse. Our ring doorbell has always stayed charged with a hardwired connection. Over the last couple weeks, we have gotten low battery notifications (especially when really cold). It got down to 2 percent battery so I unscrewed it and brought it inside to charge overnight. The blue circle indicator has shown us the charge is completed but the app is still showing the doorbell at 2 percent.
