Pro Power Kit Causing Failures

For the second time, the Pro Power Kit (the little white box that attaches to the mechanical chime) has failed, causing the system to malfunction. The first time, the Pro Power Kit became extremely hot when it failed, and destroyed the mechanical chime (fried one of the plungers) and the Pro Doorbell. The entire system failed and would not work. Ring sent a new Pro Doorbell, and recommended that I buy the Newhouse Hardware CHM2 Door Chime, which I did. I am also using the Ring Transformer. This time, the Pro Power Kit failed after only one week. The door camera still works, but the mechanical chime will not sound. Why is this happening repeatedly?
