Poor and inconsistent wifi performance doorbell 3+ <-> chime pro

I have a chime pro in a direct line of sight through a frosted (not metaled or tinted just frosted glass) window about 15 ft to a doorbell 3+. Yet the wifi between the two varies from -65 to -39. It Iwas -40, I swapped out a low battery for a fresh one and it went to -65, then a pulled that new battery and put it back to restart the device and it goes to -53. So it's not that good at its best and it's inconsistent. This has nothing to do with my home wifi as its entirely a ring to ring network with only 2 devices in line of sight. What is the radiated power distribution (i.e antenna configuration for both devices?). Is it omni directional or is there an optimal orientation?
