Ownership Transfer
hardwired-video-doorbell

Hello. I am currently a shared user with the video doorbell and my wife is the owner. We want to make me the owner and her a shared user. Correct me if I’m wrong but she needs to follow the steps to release ownership and then I would take over ownership and add her back as a shared user? After she releases ownership will I need to physically remove the doorbell and perform the setup like I did when we first got the device but with myself as the owner? Thank you.

You got it, @JohnnyBGood ! The best way to transfer device ownership is for the current owner to remove the Video Doorbell, and then for you to attempt a new setup in your Ring app. Upon attempting a new setup under your account, the previous owner will be notified and requested to release ownership. Once complete, you will then be able to setup the Video Doorbell on your account, and add Mrs. JohnnyBGood as a Shared User. Here's a couple Help Center articles for reference and some great additional tips if needed. :) https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038010351-I-Would-Like-to-Take-Over-Change-Ownership-of-Ring-Devices https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005235186-Controlling-Ring-Devices-With-Users-and-Roles

What if, there is no chance to contact with former owner? I saw there is 15 days period when the doorbell will be automatically removed from the former owner's accout, is it true?
