Ring Video Doorbell
Not picking up people at the door
My ring used to pick up people when they came through the front door but it has stopped doing it. I have reset it all and it picked people up for a day and has now stopped again. This is important to me as I need to see if an ex comes to the door, for police purposes. Feeling unprotected now…what can I do???

Hi there, @Michelle1967! The best setting to check next is the Motion Frequency. The motion frequency feature is intended to preserve battery by preventing excessive alerts in high traffic areas. Check out our [help center article](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Understanding-and-Optimizing-Motion-Detection-with-Motion-Frequency) about this feature to see how to use it best. I recommend also checking other motion settings to ensure detection is optimal. I hope this helps! :)
