Hi neighbors. If the battery in your Ring Doorbell or Camera is low, Live View will be disabled until the battery is charged back up. If you’ve already charged the battery and the app is not reflecting that, try triggering a test motion event to force the Device Health page to properly update. It’s also important to ensure your Ring app is updated to the latest version available. Lastly, you can also try rebooting your Doorbell using the reboot option on the Device Health page. If you continue to receive an error message about low battery after checking the above, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here for further assistance.

Hi Caitlyn_Ring, thanks for your reply. As mentioned in my previous post, live view IS working but only when accessed via www.ring.com - therefore doesn’t appear to be a problem with the doorbell battery. Seems it’s a problem with the App. The battery IS fully charged. I have tried rebooting, recharging, reinstalling the battery, pressing the ring button after reinstalling the battery and triggering a test motion but the App still doesn’t update to reflect the charged battery and Live View is still disabled. I am running the latest version of the Ring App. My doorbell is 9 months old and still under warranty. I have phoned the support team who were unable to resolve the issue - they said I should expect a response in about a week. I will keep this thread updated with progress. Keeping fingers crossed!

Hi @Knight1. What is the RSSI for this device? This information can be found in the Ring app under the Device Health menu. Also, which specific Doorbell do you have?

I've been having the same issue for months. Live View unavailable due to low battery. Battery is fully charged, even bought a new battery for the same to happen. In the device heath it doesn't show the battery percentage just "add a battery" I heard you can reset it but i shouldn't have to do this every time i put a fresh battery in. About to look at alternatives as this is no longer fit for purpose.

Hi @David007. What specific device do you have? What is the RSSI for the device? Does resetting the device correct the issue?

I’m having exactly the same issue, fully charged battery but live view in the App is showing unavailable due to low battery. RSSI -39 in green. Live view via Ring.com is available, but not in the App. Tried rebooting, recharging, reinstalling battery, pressing the ring button after reinstalling the battery, updating to latest version of the Ring App … anything I’ve missed?
