Ring Video Doorbell
Doorbell chime doesn’t stop
We have our unit connected to a home digital chime device. Our doorbell is hardwired and everything has been working great until a few weeks ago. It’s almost like the button is stuck but visually it doesn’t look like it. When used it rings as it should. However it continues to ring every 30-60 seconds and eventually stops .. maybe an hour or so later. I haven’t timed it. During the rings there are neither notifications in the app nor detected motion. There is no one at the door.

This is a Gen 2 device. I am reading about a lot of issues where the doorbell button gets stuck. I reconnected the wires and made sure they are not touching one another. I even cut the wire and exposed new/clear wire. They are also not frayed. What is the recourse? I don't want to spend another $200 if this is going to happen again. I don't see an easy way to take the face plate off to clean around the button. I can only access the exterior.

JHi @user_8148e7. You cannot remove the faceplate off of a Doorbell 2nd gen. I recommend factory resetting your Doorbell to see if it helps. To reset it, press and hold the setup button on it for 20-25 seconds, then reconnect it to your Wi-Fi. If you have tried this step and are still having the same concern, give our support team a call for further assistance.

A factory reset didn't work and all support does is provide a free ring speaker which doesn't resolve the issue.

Hi @user_8148e7. It sounds like there could be an issue along the doorbell circuit. Have you checked the wiring to see if anything is loose or fraying? It would also be helpful to know which model of Ring Doorbell you have. You can find the device name on the Device Health page in the Ring app.
