2 way talk on door view cam doesn't work

I have a door view cam. I can only be heard talking through the app on my phone when connected to the door view cam using the Live View function. However when a visitor presses the bell, I can hear the audio coming from the bell on my phone but the visitor can't hear me speaking back. I've tried using iPhone and android phones and the same thing is happening on both devices.
