troubleshooting

For the first couple years everything was OK, but this year my 1st gen video doorbell has been ringing with no one there. There is no "Someone is at your door" notification with these, just the (wired) bell ringing on its own. The Ring App reports good health for the doorbell, which has wired power. The doorbell is protected from rain and direct sunlight by several feet of roof. I've removed the doorbell and checked the wiring behind it, everything looks good, no frayed wires and the diode is still in place. I saw one article on this problem with a link to an accepted solution to a problem that sounded just like this, but the link didn't work for me. What do I need to do to get this to stop? Thanks!
