Ring Security Cameras
Will Ring still work with Alexa after canceling subscription?
Since RING is taking away the DESKTOP app that I LOVED and why I subscribed to them over WYZE and Panasonic and others, when I cancel my subscription with Ring, will my Alexa / Echo devices continue to announce when motion is detected? Anyone know? Seriously, this really sucks that they are doing this.

LIVE VIEW as of TODAY, Sept. 10th 2021, still DOES NOT WORK with your new way of accessing RING cams. I have high speed internet -1 gig up/ down . I was forced to download Chrome ( I usually only use Firefox) to my PC Windows 10 app to try and view LIVE view and it STILL does not work even with Chrome browser! When I launch the original Ring app on my PC, I can see LIVE view right away! I bought the RING cams because of the awesome unique ease of seeing my Ring cams on my PC. This is where RING was BETTER than the others.. but now YOU are taking that away. My yearly Ring subscription will end Oct 20th. If this BS is not fixed by your Oct 15th deadline, I will cancel my subscription of my Ring cams with you. I really hope RING / Amazon get on this NOW.

CHi @CindersPDX, happy to chime in for Tom here. If Live View isn't working. you can find some troubleshooting tips and tricks in our Community Post on the topic [here](https://community.ring.com/t/ring-live-view-not-working-or-connecting-ring-troubleshooting-tips/249). I would also recommend making sure you have microphone permissions enabled for Ring in your Google Chrome settings, as this could also be impacting the Live View.

CUsing Chrome Dashboard on my PC, (I do not have a mic on it). I check Chrome Settings as best I could and only found this: Default behavior Sites automatically follow this setting when you visit them Sites can ask to use your microphone It is defaulted to allow microphone on When I go to Ring Chrome Dashboard to view LIVE view, it just constantly buffers saying Activating Live View and NEVER comes on right away as does in the original RING DESKTOP APP. When I mouse over the mic, in the CHROME BROWSER it says, Mic disabled. To enable it, check your browser settings. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING! IT IS ON as a default setting. OH, and when I try to view LIVE view through this terrible CHROME Ring app browser, and it DOES NOT WORK. When I close out of LIVE VIEW, and back over to history, THERE it is showing LIVE view as a recording! WHEN I could not actually see it LIVE view. So LIVE view is not real.. I have to pretend looking at LIVE view then back out to history, and THEN see the LIVE view recording. THIS IS NOT WORKING! UPDATE!!!! I finally found out how to fix this so called enable MIC in browser (even though I do not have a mic on my Windows 10 PC) In the Chrome Browser, you must go to SETTINGS, then on the right side look for SITE SETTINGS and enter that. Then scroll down VIEW PERMISSIONS AND DATA Stored across sites and click on that. Once there, I went into account.ring.com - HERE is where you can select MIC TO ALLOW as a setting. (the default was ASK/ default) Then I went back out and also did the same for ring.com NOW IT WORKS as LIVE VIEW in the Chrome Browser with my 3 RING cams. FINALLY!!!!

Hi @CindersPDX. We understand your frustration and appreciate your feedback. You can now access [Live View ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/208144516-Using-Live-View)from your [Ring.com ](http://ring.com/)account through your supported web browser. Depending on what device you have, this feature update allows you to use two-way talk, enable sound, activate your siren, or turn on the lights. Your Alexa/Echo features will remain functional without a Ring Protect Plan subscription. Once again, we do appreciate your feedback on the discontinuation of the Ring Desktop app and we will be sharing it with our team. Please see our Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360059615351) for more info on this. Thank you for your understanding!
