Video recording failed - recoverable?

Hello - I had an incident tonight for which I was trying to review the footage. The video from my Spotlight cam works immediately before and immediately after the incident. The footage I need, when I click on it, is just blank/black. No video/no audio. Is this recoverable? Is it a server issue, or against all conceivable odds, the 10 seconds of footage I actually need to see glitched while days and hours of all other videos recorded just fine? I have another cam that's linked that recorded at the same time, but it's from a much higher vantage point and indecipherable. Thanks for the help.
