Trigger floodlight to only turn on when a person is detected with camera
Hi all. I was robbed last week so I purchased a floodlight camera and have installed it with person alerts. I wondering if we have the option to only turn on the floodlight lights when a person is detected on the camera sensor. The reason being I want to set a trap to catch my theif so I only turn on the light when I have him recorded. (Otherwise, he'll just run away when the floodlight turns on) Is there any way to do this or plans to do this in the future for sting operations? Thank in advance

Hi @TomP86. You should be able to decrease your Light Sensitivity to help the lights activate when a person is within your Camera's motion detection range. To do so, follow these steps: - Open the Ring app - Choose the menu button (three lines in the upper left corner). - Select your Floodlight Cam - Tap Device Settings - Select Light Settings - Select Light Sensitivity, adjust it to your liking, and save. I hope this helps.

In my Ring app on my Iphone, I see: Version 5.85.0 From the instructions elsewhere in the thread are these steps: - Open the Ring app - Choose the menu button (three lines in the upper left corner). - Select your Floodlight Cam There is no option Floodlight Cam. I do not see an option for attaching or include images, so describe what I have. When the … is selected, first up is titled ADU Gate, the desired device. It has Motion Alerts, Light, Siren. Light turns on the light for 30 seconds. Nothing about turning on automatically. At the bottom is Select ADU Gate settings. It opens a dialog with 14 options. I checked every single one and did not find a setting for automatic light operation. What are the steps to get to this setting and enable the light for some period of time when a person is detected?

I checked every single one and did not find a setting for automatic light operation. I can turn on the light manually. Found the option: Motion-Activate Lights and it is on, or enabled. When I approach the light the blue LED turns on indicating I have been detected, but the light does not turn on. What are the steps to get to this setting and enable the light for some period of time when a person is detected? I don't know why there are two copies of this reply. My apologies for that error. Just to recap question if there's too much to read: can we have the floodlight turn on at the exact same time a person is detected using the motion system on the camera?
