Spotlight cam: “Battery” or “wired” mode when using solar panel
Upon connecting the spotlight cam to a solar panel, the app will tell you to change to “wired” mode. But after reading customer complaints; the wired mode won’t charge the battery. Is this correct? Why is the app then still telling customers to change to wired mode? Is this incorrect information the app is giving? Based on what I’ve read in here, I need to ignore the notification & keep my camera in “unwired” mode.

Hi @user_169ae0. Apologies for any confusion here, but we don't recommend using Wired Mode when your Spotlight Cam is connected to a Ring Solar Panel. The panel provides a trickle charge, which isn't the same as continuous power from a plug-in device. Would you mind sharing a screenshot of the notification you're receiving, as well as the Device Health page? I'm happy to pass this feedback onto the appropriate team.

I had the same experience and reached the same conclusion -- DO NOT change to wired mode.
