Ring wired floodlight light comes on randomly even in daytime hours after they did an update.
So i don't know if when Ring did their update if it was solely for the issue of lights randomly staying on or if after whatever update they did it started happening, but I am sure all customers with this light issue would like to know when Ring is going to fix this software bugs of lights coming on whenever, even when they are turned off. My suggestion to Ring is to improve communications with their customers through the app and not just communicate to us on the app when they want us to see their ads for products they want us to buy. 1. If there is an update about to roll out, how about posting that as a notice on the ring app to let us know what is going on. This is needed so if an update has bugs, the customer won't think they are the only one when something suddenly isn't working and think it is only their stuff that is broken, then call tech dept and waste their and our time trying to get a resolution to the problem when there is NO solution because Ring software team hasn't fixed the bugs yet. That is just common curtesy, to keep the customer informed about issues Ring is having. 2. Also posting a notice for all that says for ex: ... We had an update for lights and having some software issues. We are working on it and trying to fix. Please be patient, we are aware of these issues and trying to fix them. As soon as we have a solution, we will notify customers through the app that it has been rectified. I have purchased several Ring devices and feel the least Ring should do is let their customers know and not keep us in the dark about your issues. Please improve your communications with customers, not doing so only makes us feel like we went with the wrong company and lose confidence in all RING products. Please....fix the lights that are staying on all day long, that are are toggled to the off mode. The longer it takes, the more the lights stay on and because of the problem with your software issues, it becomes our problem, having to continually toggle them off again and again and also waste the life of our lights.

Yeah, Ring customer support is HORRIBLE, possibly the worst that I have ever seen. I have posted about it several times. I first called to report the same issue at the end of January (2025) and was told I would hear back from engineering in 72 hours. I called 2 more times and still have not hear anything. They did post a few responses with a temporary fix saying to turn the light brightness down to anything below the maximum. It does seem to work.

Hi, thank you for sharing your feedback on this issue. We've replied to other threads about this problem advising that our team is investigating and working on a resolution. At this time, we don't have any updates to share, but rest assured our team is working to get this resolved as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience.

Agree with everything said, I have two ring floodlight cameras with lights coming on at random times, from what I can remember it started around October last year and no matter what I do it carries on. Currently after two calls to ring with a hard reset completed I awaiting contact from additional technical support. Like your comment about it becoming our problem as that's just how I feel and currently have little confidence in Ring products.
