Live view recording without me initiating
I am seeing Live View recordings saved when I haven't done anything to initiate them. I thought maybe someone hacked my account so i changed password but its still happening. Any ideas?

These live view events are occuring WHILE I am asleep. No one in this house or linked devices are initiating them.

Hi @Stargazer424. I suggest reaching out to our support team. They'll be able to go over your Event History and determine what is the cause for these Live Views. I'm new to Ring. Just purchased an Indoor cam. I just discovered it automatically begins recording whenever I go to "live" view. I used live view during my setup/install today and later discovered 20 videos in my event timeline that were recorded during my setup. Filling up my timeline with useless stuff. Ring Tech says there is no setting to turn off this function. I really don't like this. I wish there was an option to turn this default setting off. I like to check using live view a lot. Now I have to go back and delete the videos every time I open up live view. Anyone have the same experience? Any workarounds? Thanks Greg

CHi @user_27a4d5. This is intended behavior. When you activate a Live View, and have a compatible Ring subscription, it will be recorded. You're welcome to add your feedback to our Feature Request board.

An event can show up in your event history whenever you initiate it from the Ring app or if a Linked Device triggered the recording. Learn more about [Linked Devices here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033904271-Linking-your-Ring-devices-together-for-enhanced-security-). Having integrations such as Alexa, and using those commands can also trigger an event that would then show in your Ring app. If you need further assistance, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406).
