Hardwired Outdoor Camera using a LOT of battery, why?

I have two Outdoor Cameras, they are identical. One is battery only and lasts around a months or more between charges. The other has a mains hardwire kit and a backup battery. The hardwired one, when unplugged, eats battery power. So far since unplugging it 2 hours ago has used 10% of the battery. The settings for both are the same. Why?
