@meme Thanks for your reply, I called ring and they just said that my firmware is current and just have to wait really for them to go through the issues firmware by firmware, not much can be done apart from to wait for the automatic update. Asked if they could do a manual firmware update but no such luck, just gotta wait it out.

TCHI all, Writing after few weeks now. My problem of light going on in 30 minutes has gotten worse. Now they are switching on every time the car passes by- I have not changed any configuration. My motion setting is at Human mode and light sensitivity at medium. Light goes on every few minutes. Not sure how long they are going to last. I have tried all methods ( moving light physically and angle) nothing is working. So frustrating experience. Its looks to be real bad product.

TCHI Meme, Ring support comes back with same answwr. We have escalated this issue and we will get back. Smae old story. BTW my only lights go up when car passees by from back of the camera. Car coming from front does not trigger the lights. I am on Human mode so technically should not trigger anything. Also I had the same settings for months and this issue started just recently. Anyway, I iwll wait for ring to reply and give them chance before returing these lights. What an experince with Ring. I will give them "0" on their support. I just want to know if new replacement has helped with 30 minutes light on issue for anyone. This way atleast I know I dump Ring and move to some other products or give them a chance with replacements.

V@meme Thanks for your reply. How do I find the Firmware version? I bought the device 2 weeks ago. > @meme wrote: > > @Vazgen > > > > Thanks for your reply. > > > > After calling Ring support several times over a couple days, I was able to speak directly with a Level 2 on Saturday night, and we spent about 2 hours troubleshooting and running various tests. His shift doesn't start until 11 AM MST, so hopefully, it will help if they realize that I am not the only one with these issues. I thought from the beginning that it's a bad batch of cameras because both my floodlights have this issue. > > > > What's been determined is > > > > 1) It is NOT related to the sensitivity (distance) setting in the light settings. Thus not related to external motion triggers. This has been tested more than three times by me and then by Ring. To me, reducing the functionality of the lights would not be an acceptable solution, as then an intruder would practically be in your house by the time the lights kick on. There would be not light deterrent and little hope that you get a decent picture of the intruder. > > > > 2) It is not due to electrical issues. > > > > 3) Neither of my floodlight cameras are able to update the firmware, even through a cellphone hotspot. > > > > What is the firmware version for your floodlight(s)? > > > > > > > @Vazgen wrote: > > > > I am having the same issue. CI installed a new floodlight camera yesterday and it is doing the same with the light coming on every thirty minutes for about 20 seconds. It did this all night. When I check the FW version in the IOS App it simply states that it is up to date.

KI have the same issue - floodlight cam light is going on all night long. I have turned down the light sensor to almost nothing and it is still going on all night long. This is a defect and Ring needs to acknowledge it. I have older versions of the floodlight cam and they work fine; it's this new version. I cannot see my firmware version - on my Device Details all it says is that my firmware is up to date.

My floodlight cam is now cycling on and off every 30 seconds, with no motion detected or any alert sounding. Trying to get help thru RING is an awful ordeal.

CI'm having the same issue and I had to turn the motion sensor zones off, because its coming on and off about every 20 - 30 seconds with no motion detection. This makes me very unhappy with the product now.

SI have just installed my 3rd set of floodlight cams - both are stuck on the old firmware version - even after the level 2 rep promised this wouldn’t be the case I’m fed up of this service from ring - thinking of switching to nest

EHappy Holidays Everyone. I just checked my Ring app and the flood light I had problems with is now showing firmware is up to date. Snapshot Capture is now working as well. As for the issue of the lights turning on every 30mins I am not sure. My flood light that had problems is in an area of my backyard that I don't have direct visibility on. Check and see if your flood cam now have a firmware that is up to date and if it fixes your issues.

CI see now... On my 2 floodlight cams with the older firmware (not up to date) snashot capture doesn't work and the lights are more sensitive. On my other 2 floodlight cams the firmware is up to date and snapshot capture works just fine. Note: I spent an hour with support trying to get my 2 old firmware cams to up date (power cycle, reset, re-setup, motion envents, etc). Support guy was unsuccessful - nothing worked. His last stance was "the lights will likely up date on their own, call back in January if they don't" - :-(

SI've had no luck either. On my 3rd set of floodlight cams - same issue as before with the lights triggering! Still on old firmware version - giving up hope that Ring will ever sort this one out

I am having this exact same issue, though my floodlight seems to come on every ~15min instead of 30min. I'm not sure when it started happening. I've had the floodlight for about 2 years now and just recall at night sometimes it would seem like the light would be on and chalked it up to some random motion from the PIR. Recently, I started noticing the following appear in my Asus router log that would suggest the floodlight is leaving the wifi network for some reason every ~15min (does it internally reboot itself?). Feb 7 13:42:22 syslog: WLCEVENTD wlceventd_proc_event(466): wl0.1: Deauth_ind 74:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: 0, reason: **Deauthenticated because sending station is leaving (or has left)** IBSS or ESS (3) Feb 7 13:42:58 syslog: WLCEVENTD wlceventd_proc_event(500): wl0.1: Auth 74:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: Successful (0) Feb 7 13:42:58 syslog: WLCEVENTD wlceventd_proc_event(529): wl0.1: Assoc 74:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: Successful (0) Feb 7 13:58:34 syslog: WLCEVENTD wlceventd_proc_event(466): wl0.1: Deauth_ind 74:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: 0, reason: **Deauthenticated because sending station is leaving (or has left)** IBSS or ESS (3) Feb 7 13:59:10 syslog: WLCEVENTD wlceventd_proc_event(500): wl0.1: Auth 74:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: Successful (0) Feb 7 13:59:10 syslog: WLCEVENTD wlceventd_proc_event(529): wl0.1: Assoc 74:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: Successful (0) Feb 7 14:14:46 syslog: WLCEVENTD wlceventd_proc_event(466): wl0.1: Deauth_ind 74:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: 0, reason: **Deauthenticated because sending station is leaving (or has left)** IBSS or ESS (3) Feb 7 14:15:21 syslog: WLCEVENTD wlceventd_proc_event(500): wl0.1: Auth 74:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: Successful (0) Feb 7 14:15:21 syslog: WLCEVENTD wlceventd_proc_event(529): wl0.1: Assoc 74:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, status: Successful (0) The other day, I decided to hard reset and remove/re-add the floodlight to my account to start fresh and enable the continuous snapshot feature to take a picture every 1min. Now I noticed every ~15min or so the snapshots "skip" while the floodlight is rebooting and right after it comes back one snapshot has the light on. The lights must come on whenever the wifi reconnects (or maybe the floodlight reboots itself). I also feel like before I updated and enabled snapshots, the cycle was almost exactly 15min spot on. Now that there's a snapshot that has to be uploaded, I wonder if there is some additional "wait time" for the pending task to clear before the restart happens, causing it to stretch to about 16min now. Any ideas what's going on? Is there some 15min watchdog timer somewhere that isn't happy and rebooting the floodlight every 15min, or is the floodlight somehow re-authenticating to wifi every 15min for some reason? The device health says I'm on the latest firmware and RSSI is green and typically around -60 or better.
