Charging my stickup outdoor cam
I just bought an AC adapter for my outdoor stickup cam as the solar panel couldn’t keep it charged with the limited NY sun.. How do I tell if it’s charging. The battery level has been dropping daily. It’s at 22% now.

How do we tell in the app if the battery is being charged? I have the 3rd gen wired stickup with a battery for backup, device health does not reflect the battery state. Thank you

@Caitlyn_Ring The reason I bought the adapter was because it was suggested by Ring in the App to be used to charge my battery without removing it from the device. If this is not the case then you need to make this clear when advertising product.

I think there is very vague information from Ring on the dual power setup. I guess I would like to have them answer a few questions: 1. When using battery and AC power in a 3rd gen wired stick up camera do you select wired or battery mode in the app? 2. Does the AC adapter re-charge the battery after an outage or do you eventually have to remove the battery to re-charge? 3. If set to wired mode in app why is there no battery status for info on charge state? 4. When on battery during AC failure, does the app show battery state of charge %? 5. Why would the app not show the AC power as if a solar panel was installed? Power is power.

one of you Technical support folks over phone mentioned that power adapter is not compatible with stickup cam battery and could cause over heat and not recommended to use power adapter to charge in place and only solar panel should be used to charge to stickup cam battery in place or manually via micro usb. Also i don't see battery is getting charged in place with power adapter. I would like to leave the battery inside camera and connect power adapter to this camera and power only use battery as backup, please advise it is safe to use this way or do you see any safety hazards like battery blowing up due to over charge/heat ??
