Cameras not detecting movement

Hello all! I have two outdoor spot light cameras that aren’t picking up movement, especially when I know people and vehicles have been by (friends, ups, etc). The driveway one doesn’t pickup anything unless you’re directly in front of it. The other one is the same way, doesn’t pickup ups walking the through the grass (they park on the road). What can I do to adjust to detect people and vehicles? The cameras do a very good job of detecting motion in the flower pots below them. How close does a person or vehilce have to be to detect motion? Thank you!

Hi @AAcres17. With the Spotlight Cam, you'll want to ensure that it as the proper mounting height of 9 ft. and that the bubble on the bottom of the Cam is parallel to the ground. This will ensure that your motion detection is [optimized](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003821023-Proper-Positioning-for-Your-Spotlight-Cam-Battery). This Community article [here](https://community.ring.com/t5/Ring-Device-Tips-and-How-To-s/Feature-Update-Customizable-Motion-Zones-for-Battery-Devices/ba-p/62829) goes over how to create Customizable Motion Zones. I hope this helps!

Hi. Should the bubble be at 9 foot or the top of the camera? The camera always detects is coming in and out of the garage but not if someone parks in front of the garage. I had someone stop by earlier and I never saw them in camera.

The cameras are both at the 9 foot height and level. Are they meant to only detect motion directly beneath them vs 20 feet out?
