Advanced Motion Zone is cropped in battery mode
Hi. New to ring and I have set 2 cameras up on the front and rear of my property. Unfortunately, after my friend went home with the ladder, I realised that after enabling advanced motion zones it is cropped - unlike live view which is wider. Why is this? The cameras I have are the 3rd generation stick-up cameras running in battery mode with a solar panel. However, if I switch them to wired mode then the advanced motion zone works perfectly and is the same size as the live cam view. Why am I penalised for using battery mode? Why is there not an option to have the wider motion zone whilst in battery mode? I'm missing important alerts and after recently having someone attempt to break in I really want a way around this.Does anyone know a solution or am I best just returning and buying an alternative? The cropped zones are not enough to protect my property...

I understand they are different in different modes but my question is why? Why is there no option to switch just the motion zones without anything else? If I run it in wired mode it drains my battery, whereas if I ran it in battery mode with the larger motion zone I'm sure my camera would survive with the solar panel as it is now. Instead I'm left with a less efficient and much poorer motion zone zone because ring don't give any options like this to the user. To learn this was also a thing of the past tgat was taken away is ridiculous.

Hi @user_3b062b. This is intended behavior, as the area displayed when editing your Motion Zones reflects the area that motion can be detected in. Dual powered devices can be set to either battery or wired mode, but the settings and options available will differ in each mode.
