Selecting Away Mode but device is offline
Selecting the Away Mode (motion detection enabled) although the device status is offline is not the usual way of working but it might happen. Doing it will set the Away Mode properly, supplemented by a short notification of the status of the device being offline. Afterwards the dashboard screen showing up is indicating the offline status in red font, along with the last detected motion event, **recorded** some time **back.** Overlooking the current device status can lead to the wrong assumption that the device is ready to report motion events. This story happened to me when leaving my home over-hasty. Is it correctly understood that changing the mode if the device is not online should not be possible?

Hi Caitlyn thank‘s for your fast response. To answer your questions: Which Ring devices do you have set up under this Location? A Spotlight Plus Battery. Are you changing the Mode from the Ring app or from a Ring Alarm Keypad? I am changing the Mode from the Ring app. Attached two screen shots (combined in one object, since new user cannot upload more than one embedded object)  the screenshot on the left side pops up shortly but doesn‘t stay visible (the **BACK TO DASHBOARD** button cannot be used), instead the screenshot on the right side will be shown. Rather than showing the original video I have blurred it to protect my privacy, still it is showing you the original timestamp (dd.mm.yy) To add: The Ring App V 5.60.0 was running on iOS 16.5. Meanwhile Ring App has been updated to V 5.60.1, still showing the same behavior.

@user48216 My team verified that this is the intended behavior. A Camera being offline will not prevent you from toggling the Mode in the Ring app, however the Mode change will not affect that Camera until it is back online.
